Discussions held on land law reforms

On September 18, 2021, on the initiative of members of MICOA, a meeting was held to discuss the draft land law reforms as part of the annual ICT Expo at the Blue Sky Hotel.

B.Nyamdorj, Head of the Legal Division of the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development, and Ts. Ikhbayar, a Senior Specialist with the Land Management and Geodesy Cartography Department, were invited to attend the meeting. They introduced legal reforms and changes related to telecommunications infrastructure to MICOA members.

Discussions included addressing the challenges faced by the telecom industry. These challenges include obtaining a land permit for the construction of communication networks, towers and infrastructure, participation in land management planning and protection of network infrastructure on public and private lands.

In May, the Association submitted its members' comments on the land law reforms to the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development, and some of the comments were reflected in the draft law. If there are any further comments on the draft law, the members of the association will discuss and re-submit them.
