The regional conference organized by the Communications Regulatory Commission this time brought together license holders from the western provinces of Bayan-Ölgii, Govi-Altai, Zavkhan, Uvs, and Khovd. The event took place in Ölgii city, Bayan-Ölgii province.

The conference was attended by over 130 representatives from 6 government organizations, 2 non-governmental organizations, 11 nationwide service providers, and 14 local companies.

At the conference, presentations were delivered on the legal and regulatory environment of the telecommunications sector, international trends in regulatory mechanisms, as well as the development and future changes in telecommunications, internet, and broadcasting services and technologies. A panel discussion was also held on the development of telecommunications networks, services, and broadcasting in local areas.

A report on the scheduled inspections and monitoring of license holders in the western provinces was presented during the conference. Professional and methodological guidance was provided to the license holders, and detailed recommendations will be officially delivered to each of them individually.

Initiated by the participants, a set of recommendations was issued, and a tripartite memorandum of understanding was established among the Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC), relevant local administrative bodies in the western region, and the Mongolian Information and Communication Operators’ Association (MICOA). The memorandum outlines cooperation in areas such as the protection of telecommunications corridors, land management, and connecting remote settlements to the network.

The CRC committed to reviewing all issues raised by service providers during the conference, developing an action plan to address them, organizing effective feedback mechanisms, and ensuring transparent and reciprocal information exchange.
