Unitel Group, a leading telecommunications company, recently hosted a visit from marketing, human resources, and administrative department heads of member organizations in line with MICOA guidelines for sharing best practices. The visit, which took place on February 2, 2023, aimed to showcase Unitel's success in implementing international quality management system standards and its innovative approach to adapting to the challenges posed by the global Covid-19 pandemic.
In response to the pandemic's impact on businesses worldwide, Unitel Group took proactive measures to redefine internal operations, emphasizing remote work arrangements and flexible working hours management. Recognizing the need to support its workforce and promote a healthy work-life balance, Unitel introduced a series of initiatives to accommodate the needs of its more than 2,000 employees.
A key highlight of Unitel's approach was the establishment of flexible workplace arrangements, wherein the company relocated its offices to four locations within Ulaanbaatar city. This move allowed employees to choose an office space close to their residence, children's school, or kindergarten, enabling them to spend more time with their families and reduce commuting challenges.
Furthermore, Unitel undertook a comprehensive redesign of its office spaces, adopting an open office layout and optimizing the environment to cater to employee well-being. The new design incorporated various amenities such as dedicated meeting rooms, soundproof spaces for private conversations, employee dressing rooms, well-equipped kitchen areas, children's waiting rooms, and relaxing corners. This transformation aimed to create a harmonious work atmosphere, foster team cohesion, and boost employee satisfaction.
During the visit, the attendees expressed their appreciation to Unitel Group for sharing its best practices and demonstrating its commitment to employee welfare. Inspired by Unitel's success story, the guests pledged to implement similar initiatives within their respective organizations, recognizing the potential benefits for their employees and overall operational efficiency.
