How does Mongolia rank in the telecom industry globally?

In 2021, MICOA completed a study on Mongolia's ranking in the global telecom industry to evaluate the country's information and telecommunications industry and its development. A Morning Meeting was held on December 8, 2021, to present the study results to officials from CITA, CRC, and MICOA member organizations.

The study assesses the current state of information and communications technology development in Mongolia and compares it to global and regional industry growth indicators. The research includes Mongolia's performance in ITU and GSMA rankings. It also provides detailed information about the "2021 Inclusive Internet Index" published by the Economist magazine, supported by Facebook (now Meta). This annual index compares countries across various information and telecommunications industry metrics.

By including a comprehensive review of not only information and communications technology metrics, but indicators across infrastructure, Internet availability and affordability, access to electricity and policy considerations, the study aims to identify policy gaps that need to be addressed. The participants exchanged views on which indicators to focus on and agreed to consider them in their strategy development and planning.
