Since the beginning of 2021, with funding from the World Bank, a Canadian consulting company Intelcon has been evaluating the implementation of the Mongolian telecom industry universal service obligation policy and the universal service obligation fund's activities. They also developed recommendations for the future policy direction and the fund's activities.
On November 10, 2021, the CITA held a meeting to present the consultant's evaluation report to telecommunications industry representatives. The Association's member operators held a morning meeting on November 16, 2021, to consolidate their comments on the report.
The participants exchanged their views on the World Bank Consultants' assessment and recommendations and agreed to clarify issues related to the legal environment and the operation of the Universal Service Obligation Fund, as well as specific recommendations to be made to the CITA and consultants.
